New York City, NY — George Santos has returned to his Long Island home in New York's 3rd Congressional District, which he represented in 2023 before being expelled from the House of Representatives.
The disgraced Republican walked out of Federal prison a free man after President Trump commuted his prison sentence for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. Of the 87 months Santos was to have spend behind bars, he served 84 days.
"I'm optimistic about being able to re-assimilate into society again," Santos said. "I know adapting to how the outside world has changed won't be easy. But one thing I've always excelled at is metamorphosis."
When asked what he missed most while in confinement, Santos reminisced, "Definitely the food. And driving through the countryside at night. But most of all I missed the fraud, the gratification from gaining people's trust and then helping myself to their money."
Santos confessed, "It will be hard to pick up where I left off, but I'm lucky to have gullible friends and family to help jumpstart my comeback. Look out, world, Kitara está de volta, querida!"
Marjorie Taylor Greene, Santos' former colleague in the U.S. House, was instrumental in procuring his commutation and has recommended him for consideration as a recipient of The Presidential Medal Of Freedom.
